Pre & Post Care Instructions

PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTION

  1. Do not consume alcohol beverages at least 24 hours prior to the treatment (it may increase the risk of bruising.
  2. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications if possible two weeks before treatment (aspirin, vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, St John’s Wort, Omega 3, Fish oil, Ibuprofen, Naproxen).
  3. Schedule your neurotoxin (botox, dysport) appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event. Results will take approximately 4-7 days to appear. Also bruising and swelling may be present during the healing period.
  4. Discontinue Retin A 2 days before any treatment.
  5. Reschedule your appointment if you have rash or cold sores on the area.
  6. If you have a history of cold sores please let your provider know (they may provide you antiviral medications if it is needed).
  7. Be sure to have a good breakfast (food and drink) before your procedure.
  8. You’re not a candidate if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTION

  1. Do not manipulate the treated area for 4 hours following the treatment.
  2. Do not receive facial treatments, microdermabrasion for at least 10 days after.
  3. Do not lie down for 4 hours after your treatment.
  4. The maximum results may take up to 10 days to be seen.
  5. If the desired result is not seen after 2 weeks of your treatment you may need additional treatments. You are charged for the amount of product used. Therefore, you will be charged for  the product used in any touch up or subsequent appointment.
  6. Do not perform any activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. This will keep the neurotoxins in the injected area and not elsewhere.
